Welcome to the Elementary School at the American International School Kuwait. It is my pleasure to welcome you to our learning community and to share what makes the Elementary years such an important part of a child’s educational journey.

The Elementary School is the heart of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, collaborate with others, and develop a genuine love of learning. Through inquiry-based experiences, children actively construct understanding, make meaningful connections, and grow as confident, independent learners.

Academic excellence is at the center of our work. Our teachers thoughtfully plan engaging learning experiences using research-based instructional practices while recognizing the unique strengths, interests, and needs of every child. They foster classrooms where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to take risks, building meaningful relationships that support both academic achievement and personal growth.

As an IB World School, we are committed to developing the whole child. The IB Learner Profile guides students as they grow into caring, principled, reflective, and internationally minded individuals who understand the importance of making a positive contribution to their communities and the world around them.

We also recognize that meaningful learning is strengthened through strong partnerships between school and home. Open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration with families are essential in supporting each child’s growth and success.
